We mined 8.9 acres.
(2) Reclamation continued in Stage I by placing concrete rip rap
on the north west bank of the lake and pushing it down into
the water. We just about have enough rip rap in this area
now. We have just finalized the transaction of purchasing
the D.& R., G.W. Railroad right of way. This caill now allow
us to drain down the lake in Stage I and start placing, the
overburden and top soil on the rip rap so we can get the
correct slope.
We have planted 50 good sized trees (10' to 15') in Stage I
along the south and east banks. We also have 50 more trees that
have been dug with a tree spade and balled. They will he planted
on the north bank where the rip rap and sloping is being, done now.
Our company has just purchased a bull dozer to be used in reclamation
work so this will help us to expedite this work. I expect to have
all the sloping and tree planting in Stage I done by July and have
it ready for fall seeding. 1de have also cut tires and placed them
around the trees to protect them from beavers. In Stage II, we
are continuing to slope the sides as we mine.
3/~s/~6 ~- ..
v~laf0 ~
L
~`(~ ~__
~
rPViP

owe
~~~CSS $. `
4 ~~
~n
4/
7 G
~
~~
~
.
~
v/~.,~ O
ROCKY FORD LAMgR CANON CITY
