• CONCLUSIONS
Hydrologic sampling of natural springs occurring below the mine site and groundwater
wells above, within, and below the mine site showed no significant changes in parameter
values during the 1998 water yeaz. Spring 3 bowed throughout the water yeaz, and
Spring 4 dried after the second quarter. Groundwater well levels were not significantly
affected by the surface water moisture regime. No significant changes were observed in
the chemical composition of the springs or groundwater wells.
SEDIMENT POND INSPECTIONS AND DISCHARGES
The Carbon Junction Mine has two sediment ponds, 001 and 002. Both sediment ponds
were inspected on a quarterly basis by Mr. Jim Hendricks of Oakridge Energy. Sediment
pond inspection reports are included for water year 1998. No significant concerns were
identified during the inspections.
Neither sediment pond discharged during water year 1998 as reported on CDPS dischazge
monitoring reports. These reports are appended for the 1998 water yeaz to the end of this
report.
•
•
-6-
