1999 ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE CHAMBERS PIT PERMIT NO. M-80-136
During the reporting period for this operation, an area of approximately 10 acres in the
south-central portion of the permit area was mined-out and is currently being used to
store pit-run material that is being processed when necessary. These locations are
shown on the annual report map accompanying this report.
A new area was opened-up in the northeast area of the permit and actively mined during
the reporting period. The material was transported to the south-central area for
processing. This area is being mined to satisfy Eagle County requirements and will be
reclaimed during the 1999-2000 reporting period.
Another new area on the westernmost portion of the permit was opened-up for mining
and approximately 5 acres were mined and will be reclaimed in the 1999-2000 reporting
period. Approximately 5 acres in this area are being actively mined and will continue to
be mined during the next reporting period.
No reclamation was performed during the reporting period.
Approximately 48 acres exist in a state of disturbance: either in active mining, as
operations areas, or not yet reclaimed. Approximately 17 acres have been reclaimed
with topsoiling and seeding. Topsoil is stored in a large grass-seeded berm on the north
edge of the active portion of this permit.
