The primary reason for closure was related to low precioaa meta! pri•:es and <br />the re-organization of Calais Resources, Inc. Therefore, no exploration, development <br />or production work occurred at the Cross or Caribou district mines. No exploration <br />tore drilling took place and all the equipment remained in storage. No changta took <br />place with any reclamation activity, other than what has been previously reported to <br />your agency. <br />I continued to work everyday at the Cross mine otl;ce at Cariboo during [Iris <br />period on a muhitude of corporate business related to our Colorado properties and <br />oar districts is Nevada and Panama. In addition I complete required maintenance on <br />the buildings and facilities Seven days a week I continue to add 10 pounds of <br />hydrated lime to oar water discharge system. Deify and weekly maintenance gut this <br />system ie kept current year-round. All data generated from the water system work is <br />transmitted to Walsh Esvironmental Scientists in Boulder, Colorado. Mr. Dave <br />Walker then completes nor monthly DMR's that are sent on a timely basis to the <br />WQCD at the State Heahh Department Daring the past year, no violations ofF this <br />permit took plaice. Twice yearly I inspect the mine properties for our annual Storm <br />water permit and no changes occurred during the lest period. Oar explosive <br />magazines are routinely iropected and kept under tight security and maintenance. <br />In addition to my work presence at Cariboo, we have fulltime resident caretakers <br />Bring at the Cross-Mine and Aquarius mine. <br />Oo September 09, and September 23, 2000 we experienced serious damage to our <br />MiNF.
