HCwever, much of the affected land is occupied by screened and sorted
materials stockpiles for sale. The presently unaffected land contains a fairly significant
gUantity of tailing. Still, it is anticipated that the remainder of the permit area will be
affected in the upcoming year and we probably will need to come to you for additional
permitted acreage before another year passes. We ceased operation for the winter in
late in 2000, and began active operation for the 2001 season in the spring.
Although no topsoil existed within the permit boundary (because 100 % of the
site is occupied by placer dredge tailing) we have been able to back-haul, stockpile,
and distribute some soils fur reclamation.
We had committed to back hauling and stockpiling topsoil for reclamation in the
Original per 1 1it application. We determined that we did not want to be required to
back-haul topsoil because we are still leaning toward reclaiming to wetland for
banking purposes. Therefore, you Will recall that we applied for, and received, a TR to
this permit earlier this year that eliminated our commitment to topsoiling the affected
land.
Please call with any questions.
Yours Very Truly,
Larry ram.
