The purpose of our inspection was to look for evidence
of slope instability and to determine if the spoil had been placed in
general conformance with the design.
There was no evidence of slope failures at the time of our April
1983 inspection. No spoil had been placed since our last inspection in
January 1983. The benches and outslopes were topsoiled and seeded.
Some minor erosion rills were present due to runoff from the recent
snowmelt. Placement of rip-rap rock in the diversion ditch to the south
of the area was in progress. We understand that final grading,
topsoiling and seeding of the top of the spoil pile will be started in
the near future.
Based upon our inspections of Excess Spoil Disposal Area I, we
believe that this facility has been constructed in general conformance
with the design. The spoil appears to be stable.
If we can be of further service in discussing the contents of this
letter or our observations, please call.
Very truly yours,
CTL/TNOMP~SON~,~I~NCy.-~ /~~ /J ~ ~~.~n~' .
Ronald M.
