This is
mainly due to the great demand that exists -for sand and gravel aggregates
in our metropolitan area.
The total acres affected since the mining-reclamation commenced
consists of approximately 45 acres +. The mining and reclamation effort
has been concentrated in the west, northwest portion of the property (see
aerial photo maps included with this report).
The acreage that has been partially reclaimed, that is, backfilled,
graded, banks stabilized and topsoil replaced, consists of approximately
7 acres + (see maps). The backfilled area consists of approximately 10
acres ±. The balance of the land area, 18 acres, which can be considered
as disturbed is utilized for storage of material and overburden and topsoil.
In addition, the processing site is also included in the same area as noted
on the map(s).
The water area-lake, at this time is 12 acres +, which constitutes 65%
completion for this lake, known as Northwest Lake (see maps). For the
specific reclamation accomplishments-stages and their locations, please see
maps.
The revegetation-seeding of reclaimed and backfilled areas will start
with the Spring planting season, weather permitting. No problems are
