Therefore, previously submitted maps should
suffice. According to NaTec Mines' records the Mined Land
Reclamation Division continues to hold financial warrant' s
of $60,000 for Permit M-83-194 and $1,939 for permit P-85-~.
The financial warranties cover activities to date. A check
for $275.00 is attached far the annual fee.
In the next week or two a decision by the NaTec Board of
Directors is expected to announce the decision to proceed
with a pilot, nahcolite mine which if successful, will be
followed by a commercial mine. Within the next two months,
NaTec plans to submit an amendment to CMLR permit No. M-83-
194. Rough acreage estimates for 1990 construction would
include: approximately 5 acres for plant site facilities, 5
acres for well field operations, 22 acres for evaporation
ponds and 8 acres for access road improvements, top:~oil
stockpiles or other miscellaneous disturbances. The 1990
estimate of affected acreage is less than the 45 acres
permitted under pilot plan operations.
I look forward to working with the CMLR staff on this
potential mining project.
L-E /~) ate----
Si gnature
