This pit HAS NOT been granted a Temporary
Cessation and it HAS operated more than 180 days this year. The
Financial Warranty for this operation is $111,500.00, the permit-
ted area is 1,239.40 ac. and the pit is divided into 9 Reclama-
tion Phases. An amendment was approved on August 25, 2004
allowing development of Longhorn Lake and a portion of Sharkeys
Lake as developed water storage. We are still working on acquir-
ing the bond for this change that will raise the financial
warranty to $2,989,000.
Please refer to the annual report map attached for the
location of the areas discussed in this permit. We have chose to
use an excerpt from the Mining Plan Map showing just the dis-
turbed area. We will deal specifically with each of the Annual
Report requirements outlined in Rule 1.15 of the Rules and
Regulations and the annual notice letter. Please note the
address and phone number changes.
(i) Mining continued year on a 10.16 acre ± area on the terrace
deposit in the Highlands Lake area (brown). Mining also
began on a 9.28 acres ± section of Sharkey Lake west of the
existing Plan Site (brown). The 42.80 acres ± is being used
as Plant Site and material stockpile area (orange). The
85,000 yd3 of topsoil and waste rock was stored south of the
excavated area (\\\). The topsoil will be saved and used for
reclamation. The fresh water and settling ponds cover
approximately 1.61 ac (blue).
(2) No reclamation was required this year. Grading and shaping
in the Highlands Lake area will begin this year as required
in the approved plan. Once it is complete the area will be
seeded.
