~ III IIIIIIIIIIIII III ~
November 5, 1991
To: G.C. Dodson
From: J.C. Lenz
Subject: October Monthly Operating Report
Mill Operations
1.1 Crushing
Approximately 133,210 wet tons of ore were crushed
in October. Operating availability of the primary
crusher was 90.3$. No major operating problems were
experienced this month. The most common reasons for
downtime during the month were misalignment of CV-
O1 and slab rock blockages of the feeder and the
crusher.
1.2 Grinding
138,973 dry tons of ore were ground during October.
Operating availability of the plant increased to 92.8$
this month. Average plant throughput for the month
increased to 201 tons per hour. Pump and Slurry flow
problems abated at mid month due to an ore change. During
a scheduled maintenance shutdown, a ball trap was
installed on the SAG mill discharge launder, completion
of the conversion of the SAG mill to 5/8" slotted grate
discharge, and removal of the mill trommel screens were
completed. These changes allowed CV-03 to be shut down.
The only significant loss of production other than
scheduled maintenance was due to near simultaneous
failure of the cyclone feed pump liners. Power
consumption decreased to 24.2 kwh/ton.
