This monitor station was located within the area of anticipated moderate leads ~.rf <br />potential contamination, and to monitor the reaction of the groundwater surface tip pungiing linen <br />recovery well 1Z W - l . <br />inactive Stations <br />ACA W -1: A dip sample from an alluvial well located in the Apache Canyon alluvium ai the <br />mouth of Apache Canyon. It was established to monitor potential elTects of secondary or icneai <br />mining. This station is currently inactive as per CDMG approval. <br />ACF-1: A grab sample from, and a uteaswement of, a stream Ilume located in Apache Canyon <br />approximately one-half mile from the confluence with the Purgatoire River. It was established to <br />assess potential effects of secondary or reUeat mining on stream quality and Ilow. 'I'bis station is <br />currently inactive as per CDMG approval. <br />WPD-1: A grab sample station of the West Portal Mine discharge pipe at the New Glk Minc located in <br />dre inactive West Port<21 Area. As with station NL-001, no data has bccn collected since 198) due tt) the <br />sealing of the mine. <br />Thickener Pump: This site was established to monitor Ilows lion U~c Nee I~II< peep plaid thickenci intn <br />the New Elk mine workings ("hR-34). This activity has nut bccn initialed- <br />Recycling Punrp: Phis site was establishal to document the pumping of water from the Ne~~~ ISII< <br />workings at NEW -4 to the Prep Plant Pickchvire has not initiated the thickener <br />recycling project as of this date. <br />L <br />]2 <br />
