2006-2007 Annual Report
Table Mountain Quarry
M-1999-004
Continental Materials
(Castle Concrete Company)
Anniversary Date: June 25
Overview of Year: During the 2006-2007 permit year, activity has remained steady. Material was taker
from both the BLM and State ]ands, with more of the material coming from the State side. The materials
taken from the State land and from the BLM land are weighed separately when the rock is shipped. This
allows monitoring of the proper royalty payments. The slopes to the east and west of the State land mining
azea have been reclaimed. Areas that have been reclaimed in the past have shown very good development.
Affected Land: The amount of affected land is approximately 34 acres.
Reclamation: Slopes on the western and eastern side ofthe State land were reclaimed (see included map).
Invasion of natural vegetation is occurring rapidly in these areas. Areas of reclamation that have been
completed in the past are coming along quite well with very good growth established.
Control of knapweed continued. Spraying was completed by June of 2006 and June of 2007. Weed
control was implemented along the access road, as well as on the mesa. The spraying has seemed to help
keep the infestation in wntrol and this year's application will aid in further control and eventually eradication.
Anticipated Activity in 2005-2006: Activity in the next year will be divided between the State land and the
BLM land. Mining on the State land will continue northward. Reclamation will continue on the slopes to the
east and west as the State land is mined. Noxious weeds will be monitored and sprayed as needed.
Continental Materials 2006-2007 Annual Report M-1999-004 Table Mountain Quarry
