I
RECEIVED
OCT 211000
DELTA COUNTY Division of Minerals and Geology
TRIANTOS GRAVEL PIT
2000 Annual Report
No. M-78-304
Approximately 1.1 acres were mined at Triantos Pit during 2000. No reclamation was
done at the pit. The area left by the 2000 mining will be used for additional product stockpiles.
Triantos Pit is one of several operated by Delta County and is mined as needed for county projects
or gravel reserves. Delta County crushes and processes the gravel in each pit with a portable
crushing plant. Usually crushing at a single pit occurs on a bi-yearly basis, however, demand for
gravel may necessitate crushing again in Triantos Pit during the year 2001. If so, approximately
0.62 acres would be effected. The operator may elect to remove over burden from the area to be
mined, but not mine the exposed gravel until a later year. The operator intends to preserve the
ramped roadway along the south edge of the Phase I gravel deposit for vehicle and equipment
access to the top level of the pit. The ramp will be mined at a later date.
