Long
Division Director
I ha~~e reviewed the semi-annual subsidence monitoring report submitted
by Cyprus Empire Corporation for its Eagle 5 & 9 mines. This report
presents the results of the monument monitoring survey completed
NovE~mber 24 & 25 of 1994.
The report and map is clear and concise. The methodology and procedures
used in preparing both documents appear appropriate. The observed
subsidence continues to fall within the predicted parameters. The three
monuments required adjacent to the public Highway document that
subsidence has not affected the right-of-way. The limited extraction plan
implemented for the mains passage beneath the highway is protecting the
right-of-way as anticipated.
I recommend acceptance of Cyprus Empire Corporation's semi-annual
subsidence monitoring report for the Eagle 5 & 9 mines, as submitted.
Doc: M:\COAL\JAP\EAGLESUB.WP
JP/jp
