Copies of the individual field data <br />sheets for the forage production sampling of this site aze found in Appendix H -Copies of <br />Loadout Reclamation -Production Field Data Sheets. The sample adequacy calculations in Table <br />2, Southfield Mine Sample Adequacy Calculations, document that the number of production <br />transects required to characterize this site at the 90 percent confidence interval was 22.2 samples. <br />acre. These interim revegetation monitoring data suggest that the forage production value for <br />the Loadout Reclamation appears to satisfy the probable revegetation success standazd. Since <br />the reclaimed azea production value (69.94 g/1/4m2) exceeds the probable revegetation success <br />standazd of approximately 25.54 g/1/4 mZ or 910 pounds of air dry forage per acre with 30 <br />traz~sects, the revegetation total forage production on this site is considered successful. <br />Shrvb Density. The shrub density counts obtained from the 30 belt transects sampled on the <br />Loadout Reclamation are summarized in Table 11, Loadout Reclamation -Shrub Density. The <br />average shrub density was determined to equal 4.43 shrubs per one hundred square meters or <br />179.3 shrubs per acre. Rubber Rabbitbrush and Fourwing Salt were the only shrubs encountered <br />in the shrub density sampling. <br />According to the Southfield Mine Permit, the revegetation shrub density success standazd for the <br />Loadout site is 6.3 stems per acre. Since this site averaged 179.3 stems per acre, it can be <br />• concluded that this azea satisfies the revegetation success standazd with respect to shrub density. <br />Species Diversity. The percent relative composition or cover values in Table 9, Loadout <br />Reclamation -Plant Cover, document that the four most dominant plant species growing on this <br />reclaimed site contributed a total of 59.84 percent of the total relative cover found on this site. <br />This is well within the maximum value of 80 percent required by the Pernvt. The two most <br />dominant warm season grass species contribute a total of 14.03 percent of the total relative cover <br />found on this site which is well below the 50 percent required by the Permit. These revegetation <br />monitoring data from this site confirm that the species diversity standards for this reclaimed site <br />in 2006 are not satisfied. <br />TRANSPLANTED SHRUB SURVIVAL <br />The results obtained from the sampling of the four shrub clumps are found in Table 12, Shrub <br />Clump Survival. The overall survival of the 520 trees and shrubs planted equaled 306 plants and <br />across all sites averaged 59.4 percent. Overall survival averaged 87.5 percent for Ponderosa <br />Pine, 74.2 percent for Rocky Mountain Juniper, 51.3 percent for Skunkbtvsh Sumac, 44 percent <br />for Mountain Mahogany and 62.5 percent for Pinyon Pine. Site conditions seemed to affect <br />overall survival. Ponderosa Pine averaged 100 percent survival on shrub clumps 2B and 3C but <br />only 50 percent for shrub clump 2E. Survival of Rocky Mountain Juniper appeazed to be the <br />most consistent across all four sites, ranging between 66.7 and 100 percent. Survival of <br />Mountain Mahogany was the lowest of all species planted. <br />\.J <br />12 <br />
