DMG Permit No. M-88-112 September Monthly Sampling Dear Mr. Dillie: All required sampling was completed during the month of September. the NANOIRO water treatment plant operated intermittently during the month. A total of 12,243,800 gallons of water was treated and discharged into Rito Seco during the month of September. A response was submitted to the division addressing the high manganese in SF-1 monitor well. All surface water stations were inspected and RS-4 and RS-6 were found to be dry. Vacuum on the lysimeters was verified and no water was present to sample. When we checked the piezometers on the main embankment of the tailings impoundment on 9/25/00, the piezometers were dry or contained below 12 inches of water. The two west pit piezometers were measured for depth to water on 9/28/00, with the following result: BF-1 was 28.82 ft and BF-2 was 32.42 ft. The other piezometers in the West Mine area were also checked with the following result: PW-1 was 29.05 ft, PW-2 was 29.41 ft, PW-3 was 36.22 ft and PW-4 was 30.20 ft. The underdrain was measured at approximately 23 gpm. the collection pond's leak detection system was pumped and sampled on 9/26/00. The leak was approximately 36 gpad. The seeps remain dry. with DMG approval, the brine water was pumped from the evaporation system collection pond to the failings impoundment. A total of 2,172,700 gallons of water was pumped to the tailings impoundment. The depth to water at BF-4 was at 25.83 feet on 9/30/00. A SUBSIDIARY OF BATTLE MOUNTAIN GOLD COA1PANY P.O.
