The existing 9.53 acres in the I 1 I permit are <br />included within the 112 permit boundaries. Therefore CDOT wishes to terminate the I 1 1 permit <br />when the 112 permit is approved. The total acreage of the 1 12 pit will be 35.00 acres. <br />The existing pit has been used by both the US Forest Service and CDOT. It is currently <br />mined out and not reclaimed. Temporarily seeding and erosion control berms were completed <br />during fall 1995. <br />Both the US Forest Service and CDOT plan to continue use of this pit for an estimated 30 <br />years. The site will be used intermittently for production of paving aggregates and hot mixed <br />bituminous pavement. A portion of the pit will be used for stockpiling topsoil and crushed <br />aggregates on a full time basis. It is intended that the maximum disturbed area will be no larger <br />than l3 acres. Temporary revegetation of the active pit area will be done if the pit is not intended <br />to be used during the following year. Staged permanent reclamation should keep the active pit <br />area to less than l3 acres. Permanent reclamation will return the land to it's original use, <br />rangeland. <br />CDOT has not yet obtained a Special Use Permit from the US Forest Service as explained <br />in EXHIBIT "M". CDOT requests a approval of this application conditional on obtaining the <br />Special Use Permit. <br />
