EXHIBIT "G"
WATER INFORMATION
SPRING CREEK PASS
This pit site is dry to the elevation of the useable aggregates. There will be no dewatering
discharge from the pit.
Any water needed forprocessing aggregates will be furnished and hauled by the
contractor. No water will be required for reclamation.
The operation of the pit is not expected to adversely affect the surface or groundwater
systems. Petroleum and asphalt products will be stored in compliance with applicable regulations.
All spills will be properly cleaned up and disposed of.
The only possible affect on surface or groundwater is due to surface runoff of the
unreclaimed, active pit area. According to the Colorado Climate Control Center this area holds
up to 10" of moisture in snowfall. The soils are well drained and have moderate permeability. No
fertilizer will be used since it would leach through the topsoil during the spring runoff
contaminating the groundwater. The Soil Conservation Service report points this out and also
states that fertilizer favors the less desirable annual plants and weeds at the expense of the
perennials. In addition, precautions will be taken to prevent runoff from the unreclaimed site
eroding the steeper lower area (maximum 15% grade). A series of berms will be constructed to
increase detention time and contain the spring runoff. Three berms will be placed in the upper pit
area and two berms will be placed in the lower areajust above the tributary to North Clear Creek.
The berms should contain most if not all of the runoff from reaching the tributary to North Clear
Creek at the lower pit area. See attached berm detail and the Stormwater Management Plan.
EXHIBIT "H"
WILDLIFE INFORMATION
SPRING CREEK PASS
The Wildlife statements from the 11 I Pit Permit are attached. There were no concerns by
the Division of Wildlife at that time.
CDOT intend to have no more than 13 acres disturbed at any time. The land will be
returned to it's original use, rangeland, as areas are mined out..
