RO Rock Outcrop and Rubbleland
This undifferentiated group of miscellaneous land[ypes consists of rock
outcrop in the form of escarpments, volcanic dikes, exposed bedrock, rocky
cliffs and ridges, and mesas.
The rubbleland most often occurs as colluvial talus, but may also include
rock streams and debris avalanche materials. Slopes range from 2S percent
to nearly vertical on cliffs.
because this is an undifferentiated group, either one or the other component
or both may be present. These areas are basically nonvegetated, but may
contain some vegetation on soils included in this map unit. Soils comprise
15 percent or less of this map unit.
These areas may be locally important for raptor aeries, such as for the
peregrine falcon, and for bighorn sheep habitat. These areas also have high
scenic values.
..,..~
Escarpment --- ~~ ~ '~II
.,f--~ /. ~ , 7,,
- - ~-W
~ ;'" ...~'~ Oa'
~~ j~..
i
Andesite, Rhyotite,
~r Tuff and Brecc+a
~~~"~~~www--- _ _Parent Rock
.~
Figure 14.
