• Introduction
The information assembled is this 2000 Annual Hydrology ReDOrt (AfQi) includes
data collected from approved monitoring eitea established nt Seneca Coal
Compapy's (SCC) Seneca II-w Miae (State Permit No. C-B7-057). Locations of
monitoring sites discussed in this report can be Found by referring to Exhibit
7-1, Hydrology Monitoring Map, which may be found is the Seneca II-w Permit
Application Package (PAP).
All references to 2000 (or to ^thie year') will be for water Yeer 2000 (October
1, 1999 through BeDtember 30, 2000) unless otherwise noted. All tables referred
to in the Following text can be found is Appendix A. Ia adflitioa, a table of
contents for Appendix A is given at the beginning of that appendix. Figure 1
(Appendix A) ahowe the area mined is 2000. Mining began at Seneca II-w is
August 1990.
Fie18 eoaductivity ea8 DE meters mere calibratefl prior to each say's use. Tha
• conductivity mater ie calibrated using a potassium chloride solutloa with as
electrical eoaductivity is the 1000 to 3000 umhoe/cm range. The yH mater ie
calibrated ueiag NH9 Gsaceeble buffers with DH values of 7 and 10.
prior to October 1, 1989, all £ia18 conductivity values collected at 9eaece II-w
monitoring sites were not corrected for temperature (i.e., 25° C). Field
conductivity data starting oa October 1, 1989 ware temperature corrected to 25°
C. The formula For correcting non-corrected conductivity date may be found is
the 1990 through 1992 AHRe.
SCC instituted in 1995 a new monitoring Bite numbering system for Ste new
Paradox"' mater quality database. Thin aem system ie detailed is Table A. For
coaveaiance sake, this table has bean placed at the end of the Table o£ Contents
(sae previous Dage). Ia addition, Table 3, Summary of Ground water Monitoring
wells; Table 10, Sugary of Surface water Monitoring Sites; and the Table of
Contents of Appendices C through 8 have all been revised to correlate the old
Bite (and may) same to the new (Paradox) computer name. The new computer name
• mill ba used throughout the following text.
)
