Spoil Spring 2 (w63PG2) was discovered is June 1999. It ie located in the main
stream channel adjacent to Spring S-5.
Spo11 Spring 3 (wSSPG3) was discovered in September 1999. It is located
immediately to the east o£ Poad 006.
Comparison of Surface water quality to water Use Standards. SCC has compiled e
list of surface water standards for agricultural uses (Table 9). This lint is
composed mostly of CDOH surface water agricultural use standards (CDOH, Aeg. d1)
as of March 1999 (see footnotes B, C, and F oa that table), although other
agency standards have bean used i£ the CDOH has no surface water agricultural
standard for a Darticular parameter (all other footnotes).
Table SO yrovidee a comparison of surface water quality to agricultural
standards. This Paradox database generated table does not include the unite of
concentration (mg/1 or ug/1) for each parameter. The units used for each
parameter are the anme ae those listed on the standards table (Table 9) sad are
also the same ae those used in the water quality reDOrte. The frequency column
oa Table 10 indicates the number of exceedencea out of the total number of
samples (i.e., 1/Z indicates one exceedeace out of two samples). Below is a
summary of staadnrda that ware exceeded. Given is Dareatheaie ie the source sad
use of each ataaderd. Although the CDOH does not indicate between livestock sad
irrigetioa uses is their surface water (Sw) agricultural ataadnrde, they have
done so in their similar ground water (GN) agricultural ateadarde (sae Table 5).
Por the sake of discussion, SCC chooses to use those groua8 water vee standards
for surface water vee evaluetioa. Of all the surface water sites downstream of
Seneca II-w, only 93tee wSDS (Dry Creak), wSSP3 (Sage Creak), an8 wSHF1 (lower
Hubberson Gulch) have their waters used for irrigation.
Parameter
aluminum (CDOH, GW, livestock)
pH (CDOH, 417, irrigetioa)
iron (CDOH, Gw, irrigetioa)
manganese (CDOH, Sw, irrigation)
Number of Sites
4
5
4
7
18

•
•
