~~~_amobell Fit - M-775: Temporary Cessation ' <br />The Campbell Pit has not been mined since 1984. The lease with <br />[9r. Campbell was renewed in 1988 but there has been a title <br />transfer cf the property which may jeopardize any further mining <br />efforts by the County or its agent. Reclamation work has <br />consisted of q_cadina slopes. Volunteer grass vegetation has been <br />observed growing in a large part of the mined area. <br />Ignacio Pit - M-77-446: Active <br />The Ignacio Pit is County owned. Gravel has been mined and <br />crushed annually since 1977. The pit will remain active until it <br />is e:;hausted. Reclamation work has not started. <br />Fine River Pit - M-77-447: Inactive <br />This pit is currently the site of a La Plata Electric Association <br />substation. Reclamation work was done by La Plata Electric, <br />Cornado Enterprises of Albuquerque. New Mexico currently owns <br />this property. The lease for mining expired December, 1977. <br />Westbrook Fit - M-78-059: Inactive <br />This pit has not been mined by the County in over 10 years. <br />Richard Norton and Alton Westbrook are the owners of record. The <br />lease for mining expired in February, 1982. <br />Paulek Pit - M-78-061: Inactive <br />Mining has not occurred by the County since before 1980. The <br />lease expired in January 1979. The owner would prefer that no <br />further mining wcrk be done and is satisfied with the present <br />status of the pit. <br />Crum Pit - M-78-062: Inactive <br />~3ravel has not been mined by the County from the Crum Pit since <br />1980. The lease for mining expired in December, ]978. <br />Reclamation work has not been started. <br />Fercell Pit - M-80-043: Inactive <br />Gravel has not been mined by the County since 1981. The lease <br />t•~r mining expired in January, 1983. Reclamation, County <br />Assessor records show that Gosney ~ Sons of Hayfield, Colorado, a <br />construction contractor, now owns this property. <br />
