Holly operates the Rex Quarry under Mining Lease
No. 1434 for five years dated June 5, 1959, last renewed
June 5, 1984.
Recently, there has been limited activity at the Rex
Quarry due to Holly's utilizing a Quarry in Wyoming to serve
its Torrington, Wyoming, factory. There has been some
quarrying and sales to other parties, however, and renewed
sugarstone purchases are anticipated, since the Wyoming
Quarry recently has been closed while sugar production in
Colorado has been revived.
In the meantime, however, there is a temporary cessa-
tion of the mining operation as that term is used in Rule 1
of the Rules and Regulations of the Board.
As evidence of temporary cessation, the undersigned
would affirm that:
1. Such temporary, cessation commenced more than
180 days prior to this date.
2. Holly's contractor, Divide Constructors, is
engaged at the Quarry basically in maintenance and
housekeeping activities and is not presently moving the
site towards completion of mining operation.
3. There have been no recent sales or processing
of the material or movement of stockpiled material.
