DMG Permit No. M-88-112
Quarterly, Monthly and Bi-weekly Sampling
Dear Mr. Dillie:
All required sampling was completed during the month of November. Enclosed are analytical
reports from Accu-Labs and Sangre De Cristo Lab (SDC) for the recent bi-weekly, monthly, and
quarterly sampling periods as specified in the April 1992 Abatement Plan. Results of HCT tests from
CORE lab is also enclosed. The cross-reference table between sample identification numbers,
sample types and sample locations is also attached. Analysis that have not been received will be
forwarded to you as I receive them.
All surface water stations were inspected and RS-4 and RS-6 were found to be dry.
Vacuum on the lysimeters was verified and no water was present to sample.
When we checked the piezometers on the main embankment of the tailings impoundment on
1 1 /24/98, the piezometers were dry or contained well below 12 inches of water.
The two new west pit piezometers vJere measured for depth to water on 1 1 /24/98, with the
following result: BF-lwas 12.0 ft and BF-2 was 15.70 ft. The other piezometers in the West Mine area
were also checked wish the following result: PW-1 was 14.20 ft, PW-2 was 15.15 ft, PW-3 was 23.35 ft
and PW-4 was 26.20 ft.
The underdrain was at approximately 31 gpm.
For the month of November the leak detection flow was approximately 26 GPAD. We continue 10
keep the collection pond at a low level to minimize leakage.
We continue to pump water from the french drain and return the water from the seep to the West
Mine infillrafion trench.
