Long
Division Director
As a condition to the approval of the above captioned permit, the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation
Boazd required that the permit be modified through a technical revision to incorporate ambient ground
water quality data. The conditional permit approval specifies:
Provision of the ground water data to the Division (of Minerals and Geology) as it is
accumulated rather than as a single submittal at the end of the data gathering period. The
Division will disseminate that data to the parties to the permit application process. This
procedure will assure that interested parties have adequate opportunity to evaluate the data.
In accordance with this permit condition, the Division hereby delivers to General Chemical the ground
water monitoring report for the period of July 1, 1999 through June 30, 2000. A Formal Public Heazing
to consider a technical revision establishing permit conditions protective of ground water will be
convened during the August 23-24 meeting of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board. Once the
technical revision application has been submitted by American Soda, the public will have an
opportunity to review the application and provide comments or objections.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Allen C.
