The majority of this material
was purchased by Alamosa County for road maintenance materials.
Approximately 0.7 of an acre was added to the affected area. This
added acreage was along the West end of the existing pit.
No reclamation was conducted in the pit during this period.
Approximately 3 acres of the permitted pit area has been graded
in preparation for reclamation to date.
Since demand from this source is totally dependant on construc-
tion activities in the area and since no major future projects are
known to be planned in the area, it is anticipated that no more than
0.7 of an acre will be added to the mine area this next year.
The reclamation effort will have to be delayed until some of the
stockpiled materials can be removed from the pit floor. Access
demands to these stockpiles and their locations make any reclamation
efforts useless until the stockpiles are removed.
Attached is a map showing the approximate extent of mining
operations to date.
Should you have any questions regarding this i
free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Jo T. Ung~
