Box 229 , Boulder, <br /> Colorado 80306 . It covers the period May 1, 1979 to May 1, 1980. <br /> The following questions and answers provide information <br /> on the mining and reclamation process at Nelson Pit. The attached <br /> map shows the areas affected. <br /> 1. What are the locations and number of areas affected during <br /> the past year? <br /> Approximately 10 acres were mined during the <br /> reporting year. <br /> 2. What are the locations and number of acres reclaimed this <br /> year? <br /> None. <br /> 3. What are the locations and number of acres in various stages <br /> of reclamation? <br /> Reclamation has not begun. However, to preserve several <br /> stands of large trees within the excavation area, <br /> Flatiron has left unmined two "islands" , of approxi- <br /> mately . 9 acre total , containing these large cotton- <br /> woods and has allowed the water level to rise within <br /> the excavated area, hoping to preserve these trees. <br /> 4. What species of vegetation have been planted? What are the <br /> locations and approximate dates of planting? <br /> None <br /> 5. What are the types , quantities and locations of fertilizers <br /> used? <br /> None <br /> 6 . What is the company 's appraisal of reclamation efforts? <br /> Flatiron is pleased with the apparent success of the <br /> tree preservation effort. <br /> 7. What are the locations and numbers of acres to be affected <br /> during the next reporting year? <br /> It is impossible to project plans at this time <br /> because the company awaits a court decision on <br /> siting of its asphalt plant at this location. <br />
