NORTHW COLORADO CONSULTANTS, INC.
Project: Waste Coal Pile Project No.: 95-2296
Location: Foidel Creek Mine Report No.:
Client: Bower Brothers Construction
Work Performed:
Date: 8/2195
Time: 3.0
Mileage: 44
EngrJTech: JK
As requested, we visited the project site to contluct nuclear densely tests #15 through #20 on the material being
placed.
The excavation contractor, Bower Brothers. placed and compacted a 4" lift of processed waste coal on top of the
already placed and compacted waste coal from previous visits. The contractor was placing the matenal in a
westward direction from the toe buttress.
Remarks:
The matenal tested generally met project specifications with moisture contents being from 2.6% to 7.6% above
optimum. The material tested generally appeared drier than that of previous visits and we discussed with Bud
Bower their method of stockpiling material to allow evaporation of moisture before placement and compaction. It
appears to be an improved procedure for this protect.
Samples of material tested were obtained and returned to our laboratory for moisture content testing.
Verbal Discussions:
Bud Bower of Bower Brothers was informed of today's test results.
