ANNUAL REP REP011111PR OCTOBER 10, 1984, PER41T X#MSARY BOETTCHER MnTONE QUARRY -- PEFMT NO. 717=348 LARIMER COUNTY, COLORADO IDEAL BASIC INDUSTRIES, INC. , CEMENT DIVISION Since the resumption of production at the Boettcher cement plant about March 1, 1984, the bulk of the raw material has been quarried from the "E"-bands between the plant site and the Windsor Reservoir and Canal Comany flood ditch. Some weathered "E-3" has been used from north of the ditch. No "C"-band cut has been opened yet, nor has such an opening been definitely scheduled. Quanryi.ng has been continued in those areas which have been previously disturbed, and it is anticipated that this operation will continue for the next year. Updated maps for the Boettcher quarry are included. 1. Location and Nuaber of Acres Affected During the Year. Operations have continued in the same areas, between the plant and the flood ditch, and just north of the flood ditch, as previous operations. No new areas have been disturbed, and all operations have remained in the presently bonded areas. 2. Locations and Number of Acres Reclaimed During the Year. No reclamation was done during the past year. All areas, except for the north 1800 feet of the A-band quarry, must be considered active sing: they will be redisturbed in future mining operations. 3. Location and Number of Acres in Various Stages of Reclamation. Negotiations are still under way between Ideal and possible users of quarry for landfill operations. 'These potential users include Larimer County and Anheuser-Busch. If negotiations axe not successful, reclamation will pro- ceed according to regulations. 4. Species of Vegetation Planted, the Locations and Approximate Dates of Planting. Not applicable at this tine. 5. Type and Approximate Quantity of Fertilizers, Organic Material, or Soil Con- ditioners Use an Iocatioui o Use. Not applicable at this time. 6. Appraisal of Results of Reclamaticn Efforts. Not applicable at this time. Estimates of Location and Number o Acres to be Affected in the Coming Year. 7. t f g Present projections are to continue quarrying in the same area as current operations, that is, the bulk of the material being obtained from the "E"-band quarry between the plant and the flood ditch. A minor amount of weathered "E"-band will be quarried from the area immediately north of the flood ditch. All operations for the year are expected to be within the cunrcntly affected and bonded areas. 8. The effective date of the information provided above is September 15, 1984. No change in bonding is indicated.
