DMG Permit No. M-88-1 12 <br />Bi-weekly and Monthly Sampling <br />Dear Mr. Dillie: <br />All required sampling was completed during the month of July. Enclosed are analytical reports <br />from Sangre De Cristo Lab (SDC) for the recent bi-weekly and monthly sampling period as specified <br />in the April 1992 Abatement Plan. The cross-reference table between sample identification <br />numbers, sample types and sample locations is also attached. Field and rinse blanks were <br />collected as pars of the QA/QC. Analysis that have not been received will be forwarded to you as I <br />receive them. <br />All surface water stations were inspected and RS-4 and RS-6 were found to be dry. <br />Vacuum on the lysimeters was verified and no water was present to sample. <br />When we checked the piezometers on the main embankment of the tailings impoundment on <br />07/29/99, the piezometers were dry or contained well below 12 inches of water. <br />The iwo west pit piezometers were measured For depth to water on 07/29/99, with the following <br />result: BF-1 was 12.61 ft and BF-2 was 16.10 ft. The other piezometers in the West Mine area were also <br />checked with the following result: PW-1 was 17.47 ft, PW-2 was 15.84 ft, PW-3 was 23.94 ft and PW-4 <br />was 26.25 ft. <br />The underdrain was measured at approximately 34 gpm. <br />The collection pond's leak detection system was sampled and pumped dry. The leak was <br />measured at approximately 77 GPAD. <br />The evaporation system was placed in operation on July 02, 1999 with two evaporators. By July 07, <br />all five evaporators were in operation. The Division approved the new superspray evaporation <br />system and it was placed in operation by the end of the month. <br />
