CMLR permit #M-88-112 was issued to Battle Mountain Resources
to cover mining activities at the San Luis Mine. The following
information is provided in support of the 1992 annual renewal
for activities conducted in 1991:
* map delineating areas of disturbance
* $430.00 annual fee
* water monitoring results
* tailings deposition progress reports
* latest tailings humidity cell results
1991 saw the completion of construction of the ore processing
facility complete with water lines from the farm and the
tailings facility.
The East Pit is well under way through the mining phase. Some
overburden has been placed in the upper mined out portion of
the East Pit. This area has not been reclaimed, mention of
this is made only to make CMLR aware that the backfilling of
the East Pit will be started while we finish mining out the
lower levels. Approximately 1,229,419 tons of ore and 3,306098
tons of waste rock were mined in 1991.
The stockpiling of topsoil from the disturbed areas is still
ongoing. As soon as a stockpile is complete, the staff is
broadcasting a seed mix on it for temporary stabilization.
Approximately 221,000 tons of topsoil was salvaged and
stockpiled during 1991.
