RECLAMATION REPORT
INTRODUCTION:
In 1994, Goors Energy Company "CEC" contacted Industrial Compliance "IC"
a subsidiary of SP Environmental Systems, Inc. to digitize, I.E. scan the
1993 Aerial Survey Map with a op[~cai scanner and put it mto computor
format (on disk). At the same time, Cooper Aerial Surveying "CAS" was
updating their aerial survey technology for 1994 to supple surveys in the
same format (on disk). CEG expects this method of tracking the
Reclamation Operation at Keenesburg to be much more sophisticated and
up to date for both the Division and CEC in the future.
RULE 2.04.13
During 1994, no additional acreages were disturbed or reseeded, the coal
crusher, coal storage, and coal load-out (tipple) facilities were the main
reclamation objective. CEC .sub-contracted the demolition of all
structural components of the tipple to an outside contractor and by the
fourth (4th) quarter was reclaiming the area. As per Rule 4.11.4, Disposal
of Nan-coal Wastes, debris from [ne tipple we~a disposed in the pits five
• (5) feet above..the water table anr. fe:~r foes below AOC. At the conclusion
of 1994 total reclamation of the tipple facility was not yet complete and
will continue through the first (1) and second (2) quarters of 1995.
Topsand from the tipple area was used to reclaim approximately eight
(8.1) acres to the south-west of the tipple facility and overburden
material from the same facility was used to backfill the evaporation pond
and road areas to the north of the mine boundary. In addition, low areas
in the reclamation were backfilled and raised closer to AOC, to comply
with then in progress "Drainage Plan II". Topsand was then placed over
both the evaporation pond area and the altered reclamation areas, these
areas will be seeded in 1995.
CEC ended 1994 with:
SUMMARY OF ACREAGE
Total area remaining to be reclaimed
., Total area ready to be planted
Total area reclaimed & revegetated
•
261.2 acres
29.8 acres
133 acres
424 acres
AHR-1994 -71- STIPULATION #17
