S 8! 6
(approximately
vrain.
45,000 acre-feet/month)
along the St.
Results of the preliminary steady state numerical
simulation using MODFLOW compare favorably with the
conceptual analysis. The output of hydraulic heads
indicate that the reclaimed water table surface will be
most steep in the northern portion of the reclaimed pit
while levels will flatten toward the south. Significant
drawdown is aparrent in the northern portion of the
reclaimed pit in the vicinity o£ the pond and near the
northern pit boundary. Groundwater levels near the
southern boundary of the reclaimed pit are shown in the
MODFLOW output as being elevated when compared with
regional levels. This affect is due to high contrast
between K of the reclaimed fill and K of the native
material.
Although the liklihood of surface flow from the reclaimed
southern mine pit boundary is low, any surface flows
which may ccur will be conrolled through the use of
drainage ditches.
7
