The drawing shows areas that were mined during the permit <br />yeaz ended July 16, 2006 and the areas that were backfilled, sloped and/or seeded during the permit year. <br />All other disturbances and reclamation noted on the drawing occurred in prior years. <br />Mining has been completed in all cells/phases of the Platte Valley operation except the processing plant <br />area and concrete batch plant site (Cell/Phase 5). These areas will continue to operate with material being <br />conveyed from Aggregate Industries' adjacent Wattenberg Lakes operation (Permit M-2004-051), which <br />commenced during 2006. It is anticipated that mining within Phase 5 azeas will not occur until all <br />material from the Wattenberg site has been processed through the Platte Valley plant. <br />All sloping has been completed around the lake in the southern half of the site and the lake if filling with <br />groundwater. Phase 2, except for approximately 2 acres on the south end, and the groundwater lake <br />slopes were seeded above the anticipated final lake elevation in Spring 2006. It is anticipated that the <br />backfilled area at the south end of Phase 2 will be seeded during the current permit year. Backfilling of <br />Phase 4 has commenced and will continue throughout the life of the mine in accordance with the permit <br />reclamation plan and the import inert fill notice approved by the Division on November 15, 2005. <br />Backfilling and grading of slopes in Phase 3 is also projected for the current permit year.
