Once again, the Foidel Creek Subsidence Monitoring Report is clear and
concise. Detectable subsidence has occurred above the complete pillar
extraction area, as anticipated. The operator indicates a desire to request a
technical revision for monitoring reductions: (1) to discontinue monitoring
of the spoil slope stability monuments opposite the portals, SP-2, SP-3, SP-4,
and (2) to reduce the frequency of monitoring of the Foidel Creek Monuments,
FC-2, FC-3, FC-4, from quarterly to annually. Both requests are acceptable in
my opinion, with the condition that the spoil slope stability monuments be
maintained for future use, if necessary.
