Monitoring of water level in the luppa and Refuse wells was met on a quarterly basis as
required by the approved permit.
2. Monitoring frequency, specific to laboratory sampling requirements, was met on a semi-
annual basis for the luppa well and the Refuse well.
Water Quantity and Quality
3, The Division notes that EFMC will be using a new field conductivity instrument in 2004.
No significant changes attributable to mining have occurred regarding water levels in the
two monitoring wells. The last four water level values for the refuse well are within a
narrow, defined range established since 1995. Variation in the luppa well water level is
not unusual. Water quality shows no degradation affecting any probable use. Surface
water flow and quality remain generally unaffected by this operation.
Thank you for your efforts to complete hydrologic monitoring in accordance with the approved
plan.
