LP-21 MINE ANNUAL REPORT
Due to the small area in-volved and the underground nature of the tine,
constant use of the disturbed area is necessary and reclamation cannot begin
until all mining activity has ceased.
The reclamation that can be performed during mining activity is minimal
and consists of stockpiling and stabilization of topsoil and seeding for stabi-
lization of the areas disturbed around ventholes.
The topsoil storage area is located near the waste dump next to the road.
(Exhibit C-2 map enclosed.) This area was relocated during the fall of 1979
when the waste dump area was extended. The topsoil stockpile was fertilized,
seeded, and mulched on top of a light snow cover. A fertilizer mixture of one
half 33-0-0 (ammium nitrate) and one half 18-43-0 (am mated triple super
phosphate) was applied at a rate of 200 pounds per acre. Then the Cotter seed
tttixture number 13 was hand seeded on the topsoil. Seed mixture 13 consists of
the following:
Mixture #13 —
Species Lbs./Acre
Crested wheatgrass 4
Western wheatgrass 4
Fourwing saltbush 2 ,r''- , .':J fl= _P.".!'''- p;,l
Indian ricegrass 1 'O!C. 0 It 2 rJr3!
