• 3. SPRING AND BEEP MONITORING <br />Requirement <br />Between April 1 and May 15 a spring and seep monitoring plan <br />is to be implemented on the reclaimed areas. <br />For springs having a flow greater than 75 gpm, a "full suite" <br />list of 25 parameters are to be analyzed. These springs will <br />also be sampled monthly for the field parameters pH, <br />conductivity, temperature and estimate of flow. <br />If no flow exceeds 75 gpm, an annual full suite analysis for <br />the single largest spring will be completed. <br />Mitigation involves the subsequent evaluation of each spring <br />or seep and the subsequent determination of the need for <br />remedial action. <br />Response <br />On May 4, 1993, a spring and seep survey was completed at <br />the Hayden Gulch minesite. A brief discussion of each site <br />follows. <br />Summaries of the field and lab analysis can be found in <br />Exhibit 5. Refer to the 1987 Annual Reclamation Report for a <br />more complete discussion of each site. <br />RSP-1 - Slight increase in flow due to melting snow cover <br />on and above seep. Conductivity decreased and pH <br />decreased. No mitigation required. <br />RSP-2 - Slight increase in flow due to melting snow cover <br />on and above seep. Conductivity decreased and pH <br />decreased. No mitigation required. <br />RSP-3 - No significant change in flow. Conductivity and pH <br />remains constant. No mitigation required. <br />RSP-4 - No significant changes in flow. Conductivity <br />decreased and pH decreased.
