ANNUAL REPORT MR OCTOBER 10, 1986 PERMIT ANNIVERSARY <br /> BOETTCBER LIMESTONE QUARRY - - PERMIT NO. 77-348 <br /> LARIMER COUNTY, COLORADO <br /> IDEAL BASIC INDUSTRIES, INC. <br /> The 1986 production run has been made on a combination of A-band, weathered <br /> E3-band, and C-band materials, all from the Niobrara formation. It is <br /> anticipated that this same combination will be used in the 1987 production <br /> run. <br /> 1. Location and -lumber of Acres Affected During the Year <br /> A-band production has continued north from about N 115,000 in previously <br /> disturbed area. Weathered C-band Droduction has progressed r.crth to <br /> about N 105,000. Topsoil stripping and mining have disturbed. aoprcx- <br /> imately 7.5 new acres. The weathered E3-band has now been mined t o <br /> N 107,000, with new disturbance of about 6.5 acres.. In the newly <br /> disturbed areas, the topsoil has been stripoed by scraper, and stored <br /> in topsoil piles, for future reclamation. <br /> 2.. Location and Number of Acres Reclaimed During the Year <br /> No reclamation was done during the 1985-186 year. All sections of <br /> the quarry are considered active since Droduction of the weathered <br /> C-band and the weathered E3rband is from the first cuts of these <br /> bands, and the ooticn of further cuts on the A-band is being neld <br /> open until the success of the high-kerogen retrofit for the Flant <br /> has been proven. This retrofit is now scheduled for 1988 or 1989. <br /> 3. Location and Number of Acres in Various Stages of Reclamation. <br /> All permitted quarry areas are presently active except the north <br /> 900 feet. A meeting .pas held with Larimer County Public Works <br /> officials in which the County expressed interest in the use of <br /> the Quarry for landfill purposes. The possible f'iture use of <br /> the Quarry will be studied in conjunction with a long-range County <br /> landfill study to be done in 1987. <br /> 4. The Species of Pegetatiā¢-a Planted, the Locations and Aoproxi-.ate <br /> Dates of Panting. <br /> Not anolicable at this time. Covering vegetation will be seeded <br /> onto the topsoil stockpiles in *'ovember, but the species aas not <br /> yet been determined. <br />
