C
TWENTYMILE COAL COMPANY
Foidel Creek Mine
April 10, 1986
To: Larry Damrau
From: Michael Joseph Astuto - Mine Surveyor
Subject: Supplement to the 1985 Annual Subsidence Survey
Report - File No. C-82-056
A surface reconnaissance survey was conducted on April 9, 1986,
as requested, of the surface spoil areas within a 1,000 feet to the
south, 1,000 feet to the east and 500 feet to the west of monument
SP-2, to determine if there is any evidence of differential movement
in the backfill spoil.
There is no apparent evidence of differential movement in the
spoil that I can easily detect. Since no significant movement has
occurred with monument SP-2 for almost two years, and there is no
apparent differential movement on the surface of the spoils area,
the logical conclusion is that monument SP-2 and SP-1 initially
experienced significant movement because of local consolidation
effects of the backfill spoil.
Sincerely,
~/~;c~~i~.~(''CGk=gam
Michael J. Astuto
Mine Surveyor
