MINED LAND RECLAMATION BOARD 110(2) ANNUAL REPORT
For Season 2004
GLACIER PEAK MINING
PERMIT NO. M-2003-030
Summary:
Glacier Peak Mining operated mechanized equipment on the Smoky Hawk claim in
Teller County, CO to produce amazonite, smoky quartz, fluorite and other related
pegmatite minerals from 6 June 2004 through 6 July 2004. A John Deere 200 track hoe
was used for this operation. Follow-on mineral removal, prospecting, reclamation, and
claim upkeep continued on all Glacier Peak claims until 2 October 2004.
Map and Table DePictine Operations:
Attached are maps and a summary table. The maps include an index map of all Glacier
Peak claims (in yellow} and detail maps ofthe four claims covered under this permit.
These maps have been updated to match GPS readings in the field and to correctly align
with neighboring claims. The seven proposed excavation sites approved under this
permit aze shown by the letters A through G and are indicated with rectangular boxes.
An orange area within a rectangular box would indicate an open excavation where work
will resume this season. Presently,. there are no open mining sites. A rectangular box
which is shaded green shows a completed excavation site which has been reclaimed.
The maps also include all the proposed and active prospect sites covered under Colorado
prospecting permit P-2003-014. The numbered blue "buttons" indicate proposed areas.
The red "buttons" enclosed within a 40' x 40' box are active prospects. Currently there
aze two active prospects. Green shaded 40' x 40' boxes are previous prospects which
have been reclaimed. Site E, for example, is a completed prospect which has now been
approved for future mining under this mining permit. (Although the map shows 40' x 40'
foot areas for prospects, most are a fraction of this because sample digs quickly show
whether or not there is substantial mineralization and the full size prospect is not
necessary.)
The total areas proposed for excavation and mining aze less than 3 acres which is the
allowed acreage under this permit.
Current Disturbances:
An area of 0.2 acres was disturbed during mining operations for 2004 at Site A on the
Smoky Hawk claim. This azea, plus an additional, approximately 0.3 acres, for a total of
0.5 acres was reclaimed. The additional disturbance, similar to five of the seven sites is
due to hand digging by field collectors prior to our ownership. As explained in our
