III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
999
ENERGY FUELS MINING CO.
RATON CREEK MINE

QUARTERLY INSPECTION REPORT
EXTENDED COAL PROCESSING WASTE
DATE OF INSPECTION: June 27,1995
IDENTIFICATION: Extended Waste Disposal Area
LOCATION: Sec. 36, R64W, 6th P.M.
Las Animas County, Co.
COMMENTS: Some rills have appeared, due to the heavy recent rains.
The slopes are well saturated with moisture. Information recieved
was that contractor was to move in to seed & mulch the area, but
due to the heavy rains it is impossible to do this work.
Areas with good topsoil shows good wild vegetation growth..thru-oat,
while the less topsoiled area does show vegetation growth but not
nearly as much. Recommendation was made by this firm to test the
area if accepted without additional topsoil, but have not received
any information.
Gabion Wire ditch does not show any water runoff. Bales of straw
were placed along the Gabion ditch (high side) at the steeper slope
areas. These bales will check the possible erosion under the Gabion
wie basket. In due time the silt will fill in between the hill slope
and the wire basket, thus allowing water runoff onto the basket and
not undermine it.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Monitor the rill erosion. Do not proceed with the
seeding and mulching contract until the Fall or Spring quarter.
Monitor the Gabion ditch for any undermining.
PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS STATEMENT:
report was prepared hereon is true
knowledge and information.
C-.2 ~-9,Y
Date
I, John H.
