The Area of disturbance was
approximately 30 X 50 feet at the origional discovery cut. An ore
storage area, loading area, and parking area, was excavated below the
immeadiate mining area approximately 50 X 50 feet wide. This area
will eventually become an active mining area also, The limited topsoil
and rock was removed and stockpiled in 2 piles, With topsoil placed
in the center and covered with rocks. Some reseeding was done on
scraves^caused by equipment turn around.
Improvements to the exsisting road on patented ground to the upper
Toltec workings were completed with culverts and ditches for drainage,
and safety birms were built as needed.
The site was temporally abandoned for the season on Sept, 3, 1984, with
a general cleanup of the area, and all equipment removed.
The above mentioned work was done in a timely manner dispite heavy
rains, wash outs, and severe erosion over the entire area.
Due to the weather conditions, and short working season, no production
ore was taken out, however 50 tons were shipped to Boulder, Colorado
for testing.
