Daniels Sand Pit
2004 Annual Report
Transit Mix Concrete
M-1973-007-SG
Overview of Permit Year: Over the year mining continued steadily in phase 4E.
Annual Report Maps: This year's annual report map will actually be a labeled aerial
photograph. This is the easiest way to describe the site.
Activity: Mining continued steadily throughout the year. Material extraction
progressed southward and eastward. The N-S trending topsoil stockpiles next to the
permit boundary have been relocated. The piles now form one long E-W trending
pile along the southern boundary of phase 4E. The topsoil stockpiles were moved in
order to maximize mining. This land has been stripped and ready for mining.
Reclamation: Last year I indicated that a drip line was going to be installed next to a
line of trees in the southern portion of phase 3E. This didn't happen and won't
happen in the foreseeable future. No new reclamation occurred last year as pit edge
zones are still involved in some stage of active mining.
Expected Activity (2003): Mining wIll (mainly) continue to push further east into
phase 4E. The relocated stockpiles will seeded in the following year.
Bonding: This operation is covered by a corporate bond.
