We will deal with each material being mined
as it pertains to the question asked in the Annual Report requirements.
The clay mine overburden piles (brown) contain sand and
gravel that will be removed as sand and gravel mining progresses
in the stages where they lay. Please refer to the annual report
map attached for the areas discussed in this text.
We will deal specifically with each of the Annual Report
questions as outlined in Section 2.41 of the Rules and Regulations.
2.41
(1) Clay - No new area was disturbed this year, mining continued
in Stage I on lands previously disturbed (orange).
Gravel - Gravel mining continued in Stage i ahead of the clay
operation. This was done in accordance with the approved
plan; by doing this the sand and gravel only has to be handled
once. The top 10 feet ± of 1.95 acres ± in Stage II was
stripped in December, 1988 (tan). This was done because the
gravel operator found that below 10 feet the material is too
wet to process efficiently. Once the material stripped from
Stage II is processed the operation will return to mine in
the 4.27 acres ± (gray) disturbed in 1988 which should have
dried out enough to process. The 3.50 acres ± mention last
CJ,Y PPppppj
~•' ~
~ '.
' ~_
s ~
m .n'~ ~ M1f
~IGK j
y[M p[R5
