•

Mr. Marcus Middleton -3- June 9, 1992
Twentymile Coal Company
The Division's position is that TCC should anticipate wells that will be
potentially affected by mining and add additional wells (downgradient in
the case of the Wadge) to insure compliance with their approved plan.
Specifically, the downgradient area in this case would be to the
northeast of the Current active underground mining.
2. No level information was included for 006-BRDH7.
Alluvial Wells
1. All requirements were met.
Surface Water
1. No raw data was reported for site 302 other than level.
2. The first vislts to sites 69 and 301 were in July rather than April or
May. Please explain.
3. Sites 304 and 307 had only 6 level readings rather than 12.
4. The text states that site 7 did not discharge, yet the date clearly shows
.55 cfs on 9/13/91. Also, this site is required to be visited monthly
during runoff period but apparently was not.
5. Site 109 raw data shows no discharge information, yet samples were taken.
6. Site 84 had only three visits in February.
S rp ings
1. Spring 20-14 should have two visits rather than one.
WATER QUALITY ANALYSIS
Bedrock Wells
1. 001-83-107 had no level taken on 9/30/91.
Z. As noted in last year's (1990) AHR, 006-83-48C needs to be replaced.
Nothing in the 1991 data would indicate that this well has recovered or
represents accurate quality. The Division still stands by its
recommendation for replacement and quality monitoring changes to this
well.
Alluvial Wells
1. The June sample for most metals was total recoverable rather than
dissolved for 008-AU-3.
