'. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />AW-Torrifluvents, nearly level. Torrifluvents consist of deep, <br />veil to.somevhat poorly drained soils formed in alluvium. They <br />occupy the. nearly level floodplains adjacent to the Colorado and <br />Roaring Fork Rivers end their major trit~ut.aries, such as Four <br />Mile Creek, Canyon Creek, Elk Creek, Divide Creek, t'amm Creek, <br />'Government Creek, and Parachute Creek. Slopes are 0 to.6 percent, <br />Thetsoils are stratified and vary vidFly in i.r•ature and d,:}~i.h dnc <br />to~seasonal :fluctuating voter levels. Surface layars range from <br />loamy 'sands~arid;fine sandy looms to silt looms and clay loans. <br />Upderlying,layers~are usually sandy looms or looms that are strat- <br />ified.vi-th.sand, gravel and cobble. Some areas have gravel and <br />cobblestone.on or near the surface. Wai.er levels fluctuate from <br />2 to 4-feet and maybe near the surface during spring runoff from <br />snov melt. Areas of this broadly defined unit are subject to <br />brief occasional flooding during late spring and early summer <br />months.. .- ..; -. . . <br />Iricluded:in.the mapping and making up 15 percent of this unit <br />are small isolated areas of the Wann soils on 1 to 3 pr•.rcent slopes. <br />Also included in mapping are small areas of moderate to severely <br />e)Y.sli;affect,ed soils identified by an alkali spot symbol. There <br />are iso]ated and small areas v},c•ru va,tcr ::t:a,i~ls near or at t.l~e sur- <br />face year around. These are idcnt.ificd l,y vet spot and marsh spot <br />sl~nbols.. - <br />
