:~- <br />-• <br />• ~II II~II~~I~~~I~ ~I~ • <br />S~v /o/~~ <br />EXHIBIT H: WILDLIFE INFORMATION <br />Per the follocaing Wildlife Statement provided by Gene <br />Byrne, District Wildlife Manager, Colorado Division of <br />Wildlife, we anticipate the Chambers Pit operation will <br />have only a minor impact on the wildlife of the area. <br />According to this report wildlife species that may be <br />encountered on the site include: Mule Deer <br />Raccoon <br />Cottontail Rabbit <br />Gray Fox <br />Ducks <br />• <br />The Bald Eagle is the only endangered species that might <br />b ountered, but leaving the natural cottonwood trees <br />in the 100' strip along the Colorado River will definitely <br />prevent any impact. Since wildlife in the area is primarily <br />dependent on vegetation along the river; the aforementioned <br />100' strip of unmined land will also serve to minimize <br />impact on the other species listed above. <br />Our plans have followed all the recommendations of the <br />Wildlife Statement in that we have allowed that the 100' <br />strip adjacent to the river will be left unmined and <br />retaining the cottonwood trees. Other recommendations, such <br />as a 3:1 pit sideslopes as well as irregular shoreline and <br /> <br />
