DepL at Natural HdiOUrts; <br />Re: Annual Report, MLR File 77-129, Whitewater 500 Pit - Mesa County <br />Mining and reclamation continued according to the mining and <br />reclamation timetable submitted in the Technical Revision accepted <br />in 1981. An economic slowdown has been affecting the Grand Junction <br />area and product demand has been lower than anticipated. The <br />Gunnison River has claimed approximately 3.95 acres along the <br />northern side of Stage Y. Please refer to the map attached. <br />Reference is made to MLRB Rules and Regulations, Section 2.40. <br />2.41 (1) No new land was disturbed in the last year. Mining <br />continued in Stages I and C, in areas previously disturbed <br />when the area was stripped in 1983, 1.18 ac.± in Stage <br />1 and 1.20 ac.± in Stage C. New material was mine to <br />replenish stockpiles used last year. Reference to the <br />annual regort map will show the area mined this year. <br />(2) Backf filling in Stage Y has stopped since no new area <br />has been disturbed to provide a source of backfill <br />material. No other stages require reclamation at this <br />time. <br />(3) Sloping is complete along the northern portion of Stage <br />1 and along the south mine face in stage C. Backf ill <br />of the 15 acres in Stage Y will resume as soon as <br />additional area is disturbed and material becomes <br />available. <br />(4) No planting was scheduled for this year. ~(a 3~~'v <br />(5) No f ertilizing was called for this year. ~ ~ ~j <br />f~ P ~` <br />lJ (c ~~ <br />
