' 4.0 SURFACE WATER MONITORING RESULTS
' Table 1 shows the currently approved surface water monitoring requirements. There are seven non-
NPDES surface water monitoring stations including three in New Horizon 1 (futtle Draw} and four
in New Horizon 2 (two in Calamity Draw and two in West Lateral Ditch).
' 4.1 Surface Water Monltoring
' Appendix D contains the flow and qualify data for the surface water stations monitored during this
water year. All quality parameters measured at New Horizon 1 and New Horizon 2 were within
historic ranges. Surface water sampling at New Horizon 2 commenced as per the monitoring
requirements in May 1993.
4.2 NPDES Discharge Monltoring
' Appendix E contains the flow and qualify data for the seven NPDES discharge points. During this
monitorin~,3 period only NPDES 001 (Pond 001) had discharges at New Horizon 1. There were no
' discharges from Ponds 002, 003, 004, 005 and 006. Discharges from NPDES 007 (Pond 007) at
New Hor>_on 2 began on May 19, 1993. This discharge point is also designated as surface water
monitoring site SW-N102. Approximately 216 acre-feet were discharged from 001 during the water
' year. Approximately 283 acre-feet were discharged from 007 during the water year. All NPDES
dischargers were within effluent limitations. Other quality parameters were within historic ranges.

10
